About the Course

In this course, learners will develop an understanding of and apply proportional relationships in two variables in order to develop a deeper comprehension of probability. Throughout the course, students will analyze and represent two-variable proportional relationships. This includes the ability to determine whether two quantities have a proportional relationship by examining various representations such as tables, graphs, or written descriptions.

Additionally, students will learn to determine the constant of proportionality within both mathematical and real-world contexts. This skill will be honed by analyzing tables, graphs, or written descriptions of proportional relationships.

Furthermore, learners will develop the ability to translate any given representation of a proportional relationship into a written description, table, or equation. This skill will enable students to effectively communicate their understanding of proportional relationships.

Moreover, the course will emphasize the importance of selecting an appropriate measure of center or measure of variation to summarize numerical data. Students will learn to interpret and compare data represented numerically or graphically, taking into consideration the context and any outliers. This skill will enable students to draw meaningful conclusions about two populations and make predictions based on the data.

Overall, this 9-week course aims to equip learners with a comprehensive understanding of proportional relationships in two variables and their application in probability. Through the analysis and representation of such relationships, students will develop critical thinking skills and the ability to draw informed conclusions.
